If you're working with influencers on your own, this checklist walks you through the process end-to-end — from first outreach to measuring results.

Step 1 — Before you reach out: Fill up a brand brief so you know exactly what you want to do. Create a list of influencers to reach out to, and email them with a catchy subject line. Set a fair reply timeline (within 7 days is reasonable to everyone who's responded).

Step 2 — Selecting and briefing: Shortlist your top 5 based on the goals you set in Step 1, clarify the idea, and negotiate price if needed. Set deliverables and a timeline, and pay 50% of the cost upfront to the influencer (with SushiVid, this deposit is held in escrow rather than disbursed immediately). Send products and clarify the unique selling proposition you want the influencer to talk about, if any.

Step 3 — Production and review: Receive the first draft — follow up if it doesn't arrive within roughly 3 days of the agreed timeline. Compare the draft against your goals, including captions, titles, descriptions, and links. Submit any iteration requests within 3 days of receiving the first draft, then confirm changes and accept the final submission before paying the remaining 50% balance.

After posting: Double-check that the content is live. Monitor analytics for the first 7 days — compiling results into a spreadsheet daily helps you spot patterns, and the more you measure, the more you can measure your ROI. Consider boosting the post within 7 days while the content is still fresh. Finally, compile all results across influencers into one spreadsheet and run a post-mortem: what you liked, what you didn't, and what worked.

Prefer to skip the manual tracking? You can also create a campaign brief directly on SushiVid to get a shortlist of matched influencers automatically, with pricing, average comments, and follower data on hand.
